PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Angeles, California before founding Gem Secure Jewelry Appraisals in 2000. He has
additional experience in multiple facets of the jewelry business, including custom design
consulting and the creation of jewelry by fabrication, plus experience in fine jewelry
wholesaling and retailing.
Mr. Davis is a Graduate Gemologist (GG). Graduates of the Gemological Institute of
America (GIA) are awarded this title after completing the required courses and passing
examinations in the theory and practice of Gemology. He is also a Diamond and Colored
Stone Graduate, awarded these titles after completing the required courses and passing
examinations in the theory and practice of identifying and ranking diamonds and colored
stones.
Patrick Davis is a member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and a candidate to
be an Accredited Senior Appraiser and Master Gemologist Appraiser (MGA). These
certifications are awarded as a result of successfully passing the Society’s intensive written
and oral examinations, submission of appraisal data and other qualifying criteria required by
the Society’s International Board of Examiners.
Mr. Davis is a Certified Bench Jeweler Technician from the Jewelers of America Inc.
This certification is awarded after successfully passing written examinations and
demonstrating the required skill and knowledge in the practice of jewelry manufacture and
repair.
Mr. Davis observes the Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers and all
documents and services offered are provided in conformity with the Uniform Standards of
Professional Appraisal Practice promulgated by the Appraisal foundation, ASA.
The American Society of Appraisers is a multi-disciplinary professional appraisal society
which tests and certifies its members. A code of ethics and continuing program for re-
