Appraisal Rates
Fees are dependant upon the difficulty of the items being appraised and the extent
of the evaluation and market research needed to come to a value conclusion and
make a fully accurate and comprehensive report.
Insurance Appraisals / Quality Confirmation of a New Purchase:
If you have under Six items to be appraised, I charge per item. I have a first item
minimum charge of $100. Each additional item will cost $50. to $75. there after.
If you have more than Six items to be appraised, such as an estate containing
many items, I charge an hourly rate of $125. per hour.
Some items requiring more extensive analysis and research may cost more.
Estimates on appraisal fees can be quoted at the time jewelry items are presented
and we can determine the extent of the research and analysis needed.
My appraisals are detailed and comprehensive. I perform a complete Gemological
evaluation on every item. I explain the evaluation and valuation process as I am conducting it.
Appraised items are digitally photographed. Analysis information is compiled and presented
in a professional bound document. You receive two copies.

Estate - If the intended use of your report is for Estate or Equitable Distribution purposes, the scope of the
assignment expands to meet IRS requirements and any particular need of the executor or bank trust
department. There will be an hourly charge. (See below.)
Estate appraisals require listings of comparable items whenever possible in order to assist the reader
(think IRS here) in coming to the same conclusion as the report. These types of reports require more time
and research than reports for insurance purposes. A retainer may be required.
Expert Witness and Deposition:
I have extensive experience providing deposition and expert witness services. (Please refer to the
Qualification page on this web site.) t.
Consultation: - A consultation is done in our office and is billed directly in 10 minute increments. Payment is
due at the end of the appointment.
Travel: - All local assignments outside our office are billed at an hourly rate portal to portal. Please take this
into consideration when requesting this service.
Out of town travel is billed at $800 for each travel day and $1,600 for each workday. Travel expenses are
billed to the client as well. A retainer is required for all out of town assignments. Please contact us to
negotiate the details.
